Privacy
Brainrot Bible is a dictionary you can read without an account. We keep what an account and the API need to work, and nothing to advertise with: no ad trackers, no analytics scripts, and no selling or sharing of your data.
Reading the site
Reading entries needs no account and sets no cookies. To enforce daily limits, the API and MCP server count requests per caller. A caller without an account is counted by a salted hash of its IP address, never the address itself. Our host, Render, keeps short-lived server logs of requests, including IP addresses, for operating and securing the service.
We don't store what you look up. Searches, suggestions and decoded text are answered and discarded; only the count of requests per day is kept.
Your account
Signing in with Google gives us your Google account ID, email address and name. We keep:
- that ID, email and name, and when you joined;
- a sign-in cookie (
slang_session) lasting 30 days. We store only a hash of it, and it ends when you sign out; - API keys you create, stored only as hashes, with when each was last used;
- terms you save and the notes you add to them;
- votes and feedback you send on entries;
- a public handle, only if you choose one for the leaderboard.
Your name and email are never shown publicly. The leaderboard is off by default and shows only the handle you pick.
AI assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT can sign in to our MCP server through WorkOS, which handles that sign-in with your Google account. We record which WorkOS user your account is linked to, so both sign-ins reach the same account.
Evidence you send in
When you send in a term, we keep the links and quotes you give, plus the meaning and notes you write, linked to your account. We fetch each link to check that the post says what you quoted. A post that passes becomes evidence and may be quoted and linked from an entry, but entries never name who sent it. Posts, and the notes sent with them, are processed by AI and search providers, including Anthropic, when entries are drafted and checked. Sources that fail the check count against an account, and repeated failures can get it banned.
Posts we quote
Entries quote and link public posts from sites such as Bluesky and Reddit. When a platform tells us a post was deleted, we stop showing it. If a post of yours is quoted here and you want it taken down, email us.
Who else processes data
- Render hosts the site and its database.
- Google handles sign-in.
- WorkOS handles sign-in for AI assistants connecting to our MCP server.
- Anthropic and our search provider process public posts and contributed evidence to write entries.
Keeping and deleting
We keep account data while your account exists. To delete your account and what is linked to it, or to get a copy, email skyler@brainrotbible.ai from the address you sign in with. Posts already published as evidence remain public on the platforms they came from, and we may keep entry history that quotes them.
